Our Patron Saint |
St. Geevarghese Mar Gregorios of Parumala, who is the first canonized saint of Malankara Orthodox Church, is the Patron Saint of our Parish. Our Parish celebrates the Feast day or ‘Perunnal’ on November Second every year which is the day on which Mar Gregorios was called for heavenly abode. Mar Gregorios Thirumeni intercedes continuously for our Fellowship and its member families before God and fortifies our Parish.

Welcome to the website of St.Gregorios Malankara Orthodox Church of Cleveland, Ohio. Our parish belongs to the South West American Diocese
of the Malankara Orthodox Church of India. Our present Metropolitan
is H.G. Alexios Mar Eusebius, under the leadership of Catholicos of
the East, H.H. Moran Mar Baselios Mar Thoma Paulose II. This church
serves the Indian Orthodox followers from Cleveland, Ohio, Pittsburgh,

History of Orthodox Syrian Church |
Malankara
Orthodox Syrian Church of India was established in A. D. 52, when
Apostle St. Thomas travelled throughout Kerala, preaching Gospel.
Though St. Thomas Christians (Syrian Christians) have moved to various
denominations, the parental body - Indian Orthodox Church - maintained
its independent nature and is headed by the Catholicos of the Apostolic
Throne of St. Thomas, headquartered at Devalokam, Kottayam, India.
The church follows Syrian liturgies and the traditions based on Indian culture.
The Orthodox Christians number to about 2.5 million in about 1400 parishes, under 30 dioceses.
